Concord Ecology was established in 2017 to provide expert ecological field surveys, habitat and species reports, specialist mapping, spatial analyses and research services for clients in North Essex and the wider East Anglia region.

Dr Tancell holds degrees from the University of Cambridge (PhD Conservation Science), the University of Bangor (MSc Ecology) and the University of Plymouth (BSc Hons Biol. Sci.). An experienced research scientist with expertise in field biology, GIS mapping, species distribution, tracking studies and spatial statistics gained from an academic career spanning more than 20 years. Roles have included working for Natural England on the designation of Marine Conservation Zones, the University of Cambridge tracking albatrosses and petrels in the high seas and the British Antarctic Survey as a member of marine ecology expedition teams.
Dr Tancell is expert in ecological data analysis and has authored a range of ecology technical reports, government advice documents and peer-reviewed journal articles. She is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management CIEEM.
